525k+ Impressions On Single LinkedIn Post.

Newsletter Edition #1 - Date - 25th December 2022.
It took me roughly eight months to go from 1500 to 25,000 community members (followers) on LinkedIn, but after that, my account reach died.
I was stuck at around 25k on LinkedIn since the last month and barely saw any growth from mid of November to mid-December.
I tried all kinds of posts, but nothing seemed to work out.
Now, before I dive into details, let me explain “WHY” these numbers matter a lot on LinkedIn and how they affect the growth of PitchGround.com and Firstsales.io.
If you are new to my newsletter, then let me tell you I run two brands
PitchGround.com - It’s a SaaS Marketplace where you can grab SaaS for as low as just $49 one-time fees with lifetime updates.
Firstsales.io - It’s my email outreach SaaS to automate your outbound sales.
For us, the UG brand is internally at the top of the funnel. (UG = Udit Goenka) which helps us to create more sub-brands.
It’s risky but fruitful; I will talk about how and why did this in one of the future newsletters.
To constantly fill our pipeline via inbound, we need visibility, and if you have ever observed my profiles, they are highly optimized for conversion.
This means you will find something interesting that will make you want to click on the profile, link, and opt-in to my offering.
When I post content on LinkedIn, it generally helps us to get around 2000+ leads in the last 90 days.
If you look at my profile, you will realize that I have added a link that says, “FREE Resources worth $5000”.
This resource link takes people to - https://resources.pitchground.com/ where interested people can download resources worth $5000 for no cost.
I’ll talk about lead magnets in the future since this post is more about breaking down the post, but before that, it’s important to understand how to use LinkedIn correctly.

This screenshot was taken in the morning, and as you can see, it has accumulated 525k+ impressions and counting.
Let’s break down this post into 4-sections that will help you understand how to write better on LinkedIn.
Section #1 - The Hook
If you don’t get your hook right, chances are people are not going to read further.
I wrote when the incident happened.
How much did I lose?
What happened to me post the incident?
What did I learn from the mistake I made?
I always say,
“Life is too short to make all the mistakes; learn from other people’s mistakes.”
People like reading other people’s mistakes because it helps them avoid them.
Now, instead of making it a life mistake which is what most people often write, I wrote the mistakes I made while running my startup.
More importantly, I made it around product development/management, which few people often discuss.
Section #2 - The Point and Description
To keep the users hooked and simple, I decided to write each mistake in a point along with a few more details about it.
I did not go in-depth into each of those mistakes because people do not have much time, and most would have skipped reading the post.
Section #3 - Make it about your audience with a simple CTA & Hashtags
I have left another hook with my CTA that I will be compiling more valuable lessons, which makes people curious, the others wanting to start following you.
Finally, I wrote a simple CTA, “Let me know your thoughts in the comment below.”
Ensure not to go above 5 hashtags, as that can decrease your reach, and use hashtags that have a broad following.
Not many know this, but the first three hashtags you add to your post get added to your post URL.
In my case, learning, founders, and startups hashtags got added, which cannot be edited. So, choose your first three hashtags wisely, as this can also affect your overall reach.
Section #4 - The Picture
If you ever check my Instagram or LinkedIn, you will realize that I am not photogenic. So, I do not click a lot of pictures.
But believe it or not, self/person photos work like magic on LinkedIn because it instantly gets people’s attention.
A photo with a smile and a bright background helps get people’s attention, and the right hook makes people want to read more.
These are all the critical elements to make your next LinkedIn post reach higher.
